Abstract:

Over the last few years, Xerox has transformed from a technology company to a world leader in services. Through these changes, our heritage of innovation continues to flourish. In addition to research done at Xerox, we also have many excellent open innovation partnerships (including with many IITs). We invest $1.4 B in research and development each year. We have been issued over 50 thousand patents worldwide; and are issued 2 patents each and every day. This is a clear indication of the creativity and innovative spirit of our scientists and engineers.

In this talk, I will provide an overview of Xerox Research and the context in which we innovate. As a global research organization, we leverage worldwide talent and collaborate with academic and industrial partners across the globe. Xerox Research Center India (located in Bangalore) is the fifth and the newest research center for Xerox. I will recount our journey and provide a view of some of the exciting work being done by our researchers. Finally, I will also provide an overview of our many open innovation partnerships with top universities in India.
