Abstract: In this talk we will look at some computational problems related to polynomials. We will see that in devising a solution to these problems, a certain matrix of partial derivatives appears even though the problem statement itself seems to have nothing to do with such a matrix. We will devise efficient algorithms and present some old and new results and some open problems related to the matrix of partial derivatives.
