About the Speaker:

Dr. Ramkumar is a senior staff scientist at Intel India leading the Innovation and Research program (I2RP) as part of India Strategic Initiatives. His current focus is to strategize and facilitate the growth of innovation and research at Intel India. Dr. Ramkumar was formerly the director of Intel's Network Connectivity Division in India. Prior to Intel he started VxTel Technologies India as its Managing Director, focusing on Voice-over-Packet technology. Prior to VxTel, he established the electronics group of Nuntius systems as its General Manager. Prior to joining industry, he was heading the signal processing labs at the Raman Research Institute as a researcher for 14 years. His R&D experience is in the area of algorithms and architecture for High performance reconfigurable computing, analog and digital communication systems, multimedia signal processing and pattern recognition. Ramkumar holds Ph.D. and M.Tech from REC Warangal. He has several publications and 5 patent filings, and a recipient of young-scientist membership of the Indian Academy of Sciences. He is a member of the IEEE and IETE.
