Abstract

This talk focuses on several cross-sectional analyses of Bangla based on the CIIL and other corpora, and also statistical approaches to modeling language stylistics and readability.

About the Speaker

Prof. BB Chaudhuri is a professor in the Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Unit of ISI Calcutta. He is widely recognized for his work on Document Image Processing and OCR on Indian Languages. A fellow of the IEEE, he is currently a recipient of the Jawaharlal Nehru Fellowship. At present he is visiting the Computer Science and Engineering Department at IIT Kanpur for two months.
