Abstract

In this talk, I will provide a brief overview of the data management research at UCI in my group. Specifically, I will describe some research we are conducting on the following four projects: 1. QUASAR project: that deals with data management for highly dynamic sensor enriched distributed computing environments. 2. MARS project: that provides an intelligent interface for query refinement and similarity queries over databases. 3. DAS Project: that explores issues related to privacy in outsourcing data management services. 4. RESCUE project: which is a multidisciplinary research effort aimed at transforming the ability of responding organizations in mitigating crisis by providing seamless access to the right information to the right people at the right time.
