Post-Doctoral Fellows

The Department of Computer Science invites applications for Post-Doctoral Fellow positions. Candidates must be Ph.D. degree holders in any area of Computer Science and Engineering or in any closely related discipline with a strong emphasis  on  Computer Science and Engineering topics. Candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis or are planning to do so shortly may also apply.

Post-doctoral fellows will receive a fellowship of Rs. 50,000/- p.m. in the first year, Rs. 55,000/- p.m. in the second year and Rs. 60,000/- p.m. in the third year, paid by the institute. A contingency amount of Rs. 1,00,000/- per year will be made available to the post-doctoral fellow for travel and contingency expenses. Initial appointments may be for at most two years.

Applications may be addressed to Head, CSE  along with a Curriculum Vitae, mentioning  degrees, year of graduation,  marks/CPI/CGPA, list of publications including peer-reviewed journals and conference, activities as journal or conference reviewer, programme committee member or member of editorial board, employment history and other professional activities, as applicable. The applicant must specify a research plan. It is optional to specify names of faculty members with whom the applicant wishes to undertake research work. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to the department to give a talk on their research work and to interact with faculty. Appointment is subject to verification of original certificates.

Other Information.

  1. Medical Benefits: Post-doctoral fellows may avail out patient and pharmacy facilities at the Health Center. Outside referrals are not reimburseable. Also medicines not available in the Health Center pharmacy  and its outsourced pharmacy are not reimburseable.
  2. Post-doctoral students will enjoy all facilities based on institute ID, including, library, gymnasium, swimming pool, etc..
  3. Leave rules: Post-doctoral fellows are eligible for 30 days of personal leave in an academic year, casual leave of 8 days in an academic year, and medical leave without pay for up to 20 days per academic year. Unavailed casual, personal or medical leave may not be carried over to the following year. Leave encashment is not permitted.
  4. Post-doctoral fellows are not eligible for LTC benefits.
