Reaching Kanpur
There are three possible routes that you can take to reach IIT Kanpur
Via Lucknow Airport: There are good connecting flights from Delhi to Lucknow. There are also some international destinations that are directly served from Lucknow (check with your agent). This is the recommended route for our international participants.
Kanpur is an important Rail junction in northern India so chances are that there is a direct train from you city to Kanpur. You can also consider reaching Kanpur from Delhi.
From Delhi to Kanpur via rail: Due to the strategic location of Kanpur in the northern railway corridor, it is especially well connected from Delhi. However these routes are quite busy and you need to book your ticket reasonably in advance. The recommended trains are
- The night train “Shram Shakti” #12452
- Lucknow Shatabdi #12004
- Kanpur Shatabdi #12034 (except Sundays)
- Any of the many Rajdhani expresses.

Reaching IIT Kanpur
Please send a mail to Mr R. S. Mishra (email rsm at cse.iitk.ac.in) giving the details of your arrival at Lucknow Airport/Kanpur Airport/Kanpur Railway station. He will arrange for the pick up. Look for someone with a placard “Workshop on complexity and logic” at:
- The arrival section in case of Lucknow/Kanpur airports
- Exit (Platform 1) in case of Kanpur railway station
