INTRODUCTION AND MOTIVATION FOR THE WORK:

The motivation for this project has been the notion of 'intelligent automobile' which can communicate with it's user in natural language and can move accordingly. The inspiration came from the work done by Dr Andrew R. Hass (Testing A Simulated Robot That Follows Instruction) and Mark Torrence (Natural Communication With Mobile Robots). Dr. Hass showed a way of using domain knowledge in a restricted domain. We used this idea, as domain of our problem is similarity very restricted. Dr Hass simulated robot is passive and it just follows instruction. While Mark Torrence's implemented a reactive mobile robot which can have two way communication with it's human counterpart, and learning about the environment. So in essence we adopted the methodology used by Dr. Hass to solve the problem encountered by Mark Torrence.
