Computer-Aided Design ME 751/451

This course covers the basic aspects of geometric modeling and goes on to the modeling of more complex curved and non-manifold objects. Applied topics such as Analysis, Optimization, Multi-Body assembly analysis etc. are studied primarily via the medium of projects undertaken by different groups.

The course has a significant project component. Projects are identified within the first four weeks and all documentation regarding the projects are created as web pages so that the entire class can benefit from these. Often, one learns more by seeing what the next person is doing than from reading a book. The final project reports are posted to the internet (see below).
