CS773: Course Policies

Assessment

The usual assessment of students taking this course shall be performed on the basis of performance in various components of the course.

  • 20%: Assignments (may include programming tasks)

  • 15%: Scribing lecture notes for one lecture

  • 10%: Mid-semester examination

  • 15%: End-semester examination

  • 40%: Term Project

Noteworthy points

  • Students obtaining significant and publishable results in the project component would be given an A grade irrespective of their performance in other components of the course.

  • Lecture notes would have to be prepared in LaTeX using style files that would be provided to all students.

Use of Unfair Means

The use of unfair means by any student would be severely punished. The following document would be referred to while deciding the penalty imposed.

  • Only students enrolled at IIT Kanpur can currently audit this course. Others may please mail the instructor for clarifications.

  • Approval for audits would be given after due consideration of logistical and academic constraints.

  • No changes in timetable or venue would ordinarily be possible to accommodate auditors.
