TA Work
The TA Work done by me during the period of study at IIT Kanpur :
- Fall 2004 : Research Assistant for Dr. Sumit Ganguly and worked on " Randomised Algorithms for Document Finger-printing ". I am very fortunate to start my research career with such a world class researcher and learnt a lot of things related to doing research from him during this period.
- Spring 2005 : Teaching Assistant for the undergraduate course CS 365 : AI Programming taught by Dr. Pabitra Mitra. The job was to help the instructor in grading by checking the assignments, robosoccer proposals etc. The course was very interesting in the sense that students had learnt the role of AI practically at the end of the semester. The students were divided into groups of 3 and each group has to code the strategies to be followed by their robot during the battle. At the end of semester a robosoccer tournament was conducted by us and the groups were graded based on the performance of their robot . During this course we formed a small research group on applications of game theory in computer science with the active participation of Dr. Pabitra Mitra and Dr. Mainak Choudhari. I had a great time interacting with the students throughout the course.
- Fall 2005 : Research Assistant for Dr. T. V. Prabhakar and working on " Digital Ecosystem for Agriculture and Rural Livelihood ( DEAL ) ", Media Lab Asia project. For more information look at : http://emandi.mla.iitk.ac.in/deal/index.html and http://emandi.mla.iitk.ac.in/index.htm
- Instructor for the C Programming course offered by the Programming Club in conjunction with Student Placement Office. Teaching 200 students in a big lecture hall like L1 itself is a great experience. Having seen many non CS students struggling during the placements last year very closely, i took up this responsibility to help them to some extent to earn their share of bread and butter. For more info look at : http://students.iitk.ac.in/programmingclub/course/ . The feedback given by the students can be found at : http://students.iitk.ac.in/programmingclub/course/feedback/data.txt .
